I didn’t grow up dreaming about becoming a professional ice dyer. It wasn’t really on my radar at all. Yet in March 2026, a group of us organized a craft fair with the hope of raising some money to help our neighbors who were targeted by ICE. I wanted my contribution to be shirts and started looking into ways to dye them that would look like the northern lights in the MN sky. The original loon shirt was born. The added depth and the beauty of the shirt came to be when the ice melted was a reminder to everyone at the craft fair that together we could make it through. We have since expanded to more MN themed shirts and more colors. I hope you enjoy the art.
